The story of Medjugorje is well known to most Catholics. In 1981, six teenagers were playing in the hills between the villages Medjugorje and Bijakovići, where the Virgin Mary appeared and talked with them.
The Plitvice Lakes, being the most prominent and most visited of all eight national parks in Croatia, is the only one in Croatia classified in the UNECSO World Heritage Listing.
Croatian Zagorje region was marked by the baroque style construction of castles, villas and manors. This tradition continued during the XIX. century, and was completed at the end of the century.
Slovenia has only one island but its uniqueness makes it more attractive than many an archipelago. Sheltered by picturesque mountains, the island reigns in the middle of an Alpine lake.
