DAY 1Arrival at the Zagreb Airport in Zagreb. Pesron from travel agency wait you at the airport, transfer and drive to your chosen accommodation. Following the check-in, the remainder of the day is free for personal interest and activities. Zagreb is the capital city of the Republic of Croatia. Today, Zagreb is the administrative, business, cultural, transport and scientific centre of Croatia. Its position and culture classifies it as a Central European city. You can spend the day visiting the capital city and its historical and cultural attractions, museums, performances or simply spend the day strolling through the city centre, having a coffee on one of the many well known Zagreb terraces or perhaps try some specialties in one of the many Zagreb gourmet restaurants. DAY 2After breakfast, a tour of the Hrvatsko Zagorje and castles has been organised. Hrvatsko Zagorje is a cultural and historical area in the north-western region of Croatia. It is separated from Zagreb by Medvednica, the renowned Zagreb mountain and natural park. Zagorje is known for its castles and beautiful picturesque nature. There will be an opportunity to have lunch in one of the Zagorje restaurants offering local dishes. Return to the hotel, an overnight stay.
DAY 3Breakfast, checkout from the hotel. Driving to Karlovac. Taking the old road Karlovac and driving to Plitvice Lakes. The Plitvice Lakes, being the most prominent and most visited of all eight national parks in Croatia, is the only one in Croatia, in terms of cultural values, classified in the (UNESCO) World Heritage Listing and has been listed since 1979, amongst the first in the world. Plitvice Lakes are a world pearl of incalculable value. Its specific beauty is a sanctuary for nature lovers and an inspiration for artists, whereas the uniqueness and richness of its nature is an occupation of scientists. After taking Plitvice lakes tour, continue drive to Zadar Zadar is a city on the Croatian seacoast, the centre of the Zadar County and wider region of northern Dalmatia. Zadar has a rich history dating back to ancient times. DAY 4Breakfast, checkout from the hotel. A drive to Split. Hotel accommodation. Split is the largest city in Dalmatia and the second largest city in Croatia, with the third largest port on the Mediterranean Sea in regards to the number of passengers. Also, Split has a rich history that includes cultural and historical attractions. A tour of Split (Diocletian’s Palace listed on UNESCO’s Cultural Heritage List, a palace from the fourth century and which functions today as the city centre making this city unique, a visit to the Peristil, Jupiter’s Temple and the Cathedral). An overnight stay.
DAY 5Breakfast, checkout from the hotel. A drive to Dubrovnik, drive through the beautiful Makarska Riviera. Arrival into Dubrovnik, listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Cities Programme, and is one of the most important historical land tourist centres in Croatia. In the Middle Ages, the Dubrovnik Republic was the only town-state on the eastern coast of the Adriatic Sea competing with Venice. Also, Dubrovnik was one of the centres in developing the Croatian language and literature. The remainder of the day can be freely spent touring Dubrovnik (visiting the town walls, Dubrovnik Cathedral, the numerous churches and monasteries, palaces, performances). An overnight stay.
DAY 6Breakfast, checkout from the hotel. A drive to Mostar, the city of bridges, located on the foreshore of the Neretva River, the largest city in Herzegovina. Herzegovina is a region in southern Bosnia-Herzegovina, with its north-western border not definitively determined. The city received its name from the bridge guards called Mostari. The Stari Most (Old Bridge) is located n the town which has since 2005 been under UNESCO protection. The wider region of today’s Mostar was settled back in pre-historical times, which is confirmed by numerous excavation findings (more than 150). DAY 7Breakfast. A tour of Sarajevo as personally planned. Sarajevo is the capital city of Bosnia-Herzegovina and is the country’s largest urban, cultural, economic and transport centre, with the MIljacka River running through the city, and in close proximity to the city is the source, the Bosna River, with its well known excursion location Sarajlija, the Bosna’s source. The Olympic mountains encompass the city. A tour of Baščaršija, the old but well preserved trading part of the city, various domed mosques, and traditional forms of oriental architecture. DAY 8Checkout from the hotel, a continuation of the drive to Zagreb. Completion of trip which is timed to the departure of your flight (opportunity of organising additional overnight stays close to the airport if required due to flight arrangements).
